Danyale’s finally working, and I talked to Kent about my reservations about management. I talked to Josh today (Danyale’s friends, fiance) and found out he makes like $8.50 an hour being a clerk at a gas station. So it surely wouldn’t be worth it at all to still go into management.
I’ve been putting a few applications in online at some banks, and maybe I’ll get something back from that. I really want to find a job that will provide me with insurance, and hopefully something with tuition reimbursement. That way I can get back into school and get my life back on track.
I’ve still been playing around with the WordPress e-commerce plugin, and I’ve figured out how to accept credit cards and place items online. But I can’t figure out how to automate ordering so I wouldn’t have to do things manually. What I might have to do is actually hook up an old school fax-modem to my computer, and hack together a quick script to take orders, fill in a form, and fax it. But I haven’t really had time to hack that together, and I don’t know if I will even bother doing it.
Even after all that work, there’s still would be marketing, branding, and more setup left to do. And with the wholesalers I’ve found so far, my profits would only be roughly 20% or so. That would mean I need to sell a minimum of 20 items or so per month to even cover my hosting charges. That’s basically all my charges would be anyhow. I already have a phone line if I needed it, and the only thing I might possibly need is a fax machine.
