A Redneck Easter

Today was the day where I met most of Danyale’s family. We headed out to Jimmy’s about noon, and by 2 o’clock there were more people there than I could possibily remember. I tended to congregate around Danyale and her parents for most of the time, and was really afraid to stray too far from the pack.
For the most part, I had fun. Danyale was being herself, playing on the four wheeler, getting mud all over her heels and dress pants. After helping her family cook some deviled eggs, and reheating the chicken and rice casserole she made late last night she headed out to the trampoline and played like a damn kid. It was kind of cute watching her jump up and down, and I wish I could have just sat there and watched her for a bit longer.
But instead, I had to track down a 400 lb. pig that got loose. Let Me say, there’s not much you can do to get a pig that size to go the direction you want to, unless it wants to go. It took about ten of us guys to herd the damn thing back into it’s pen, after we screwed up and laso’d the pigs hind leg instead of its neck. Danyale’s dad, Ernie, almost got tackled by said pig when he tried to remove the slip-knot from it’s leg. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone move quite so fast as he did when that pig came barreling down on him.
All in all, the food was okay, and seeing Danyale happy was worth the uncomfortable feelings of not knowing everyone there. I don’t really know how often these ‘family’ events occur, and although today was okay, and even fun at some points, I’m more comfortable in smaller family situations.
hey mr. I resent the comment about it being a redneck easter. You had fun. And as much as you didn’t want to have fun…you had fun chasing the pig too…although…it was quite funny watching you guys. LMAO…I love you baby…
Just picturing you chasing after a pig is funny as hell..
