Deep Inside My Thoughts

A Brave New World

I was just informed Nicole Richie is half black.

Not that I think that Nicole Richie is very attractive, but it was interesting to find out. We were talking about Soul Train when Toni told me. Evidently, Soul Train doesn’t play in this town, which isn’t much of a bother. I’ve never really been exposed to ‘Black’ culture. I don’t feel like I want to know more about it. Quite frankly, a white girl telling me about black culture is kind of a turn off.

Also, the girl talks like I’m going to meet her and fall in love. In fact, she’s already told me she loves me. Thats kind of disconcerting to me. I mean I want to meet her, but she’ll always be more of a friend than anything else. I have someone I want to be that special person, and it drives me crazy I can’t talk to her all night insted of Toni. My love life has always been complicated, and lately is has been that. I had three people I wanted, and I’ve cut down the field to one or two.

In other news:

Work was bad tonight. I keep getting frustrated at everyone, and the new hires even more so. Our 2 new drivers are terrible. They’re completely intept and can’t find houses even if their lives depended on it. Also, they’re stealing money from my pockets. I shudder at when they actually get good at their jobs. Cash is already tight enough without the added competition. I need to pay off this laptop, need to pay off school, and I’m going to need a new car soon.

Have you ever thought about Google? I mean really. I search for webpages on Google. I check my Google email, check my news using Google news. Its a Google world folks. Hell, I even look up satalite data using Google Maps. Its crazy. Lately I’ve been wardriving, and plan on using the Google Maps API to plot every wireless access point in Columbus. By the way, I’ve found about 1350 so far. Not too shabby for a town of about 35,000 people.

On a more somber note. Terrorists have gotten smarter. I wondered why terrorists struck a sky skraper 1,500 miles away and how it impacted me. I didnt feel shocked or attacked personally by September 11, 2001. Lately though, the terrorist attacks of London…and the repeated attacks yesterday signify a shift in terrorist tactics. The effects are felt even in this country. The New York Transist Police started random package searches today. They have also increased their presence on the subways. The London police tried that too, but it really didnt help did it? Now you have people fearing for their lives…an attack on a subway has happened once, and then again. I’m in no way endorsing any terrorist act, I mean, thats against my nature. Im just saying, terrorists have gotten smarter, and it seems the world has changed once again. How many more times is this world going to change while I’m still living?

The world has changed so many times already in my life, why not another?
